Why an RO or Dedicated Drinking Water Filter
Your tap water is safe, and it still tastes like a swimming pool. Those are two different questions, and only the first one is what the EPA and California standards actually measure. What they do not measure is the chlorine or chloramine still in the water when it reaches your kitchen. Or the dissolved solids that leave scum in the kettle and a film on your coffee. Or the trace pharmaceuticals and PFAS that turn up in district reports. That is the gap a drinking water system fills.
An RO system delivers purified water at one dedicated faucet for drinking, cooking, coffee, ice, and pet water bowls. It is the highest-polish water available for household consumption, at the point where polish matters most.
How the Puronics iGEN Reverse Osmosis System Is Built
- Sediment pre-filter. Removes particulates that would foul the membrane.
- Carbon pre-filter. Removes chlorine, chloramine, and organic compounds that would degrade the RO membrane.
- Reverse osmosis membrane. NSF/ANSI 58 certified semipermeable membrane. Removes 95+ percent of total dissolved solids, fluoride, arsenic, lead, nitrates, PFAS, and dissolved contaminants.
- Storage tank. Holds 3 to 4 gallons of finished water so demand is met instantly at the tap.
- Carbon post-filter. Final polish on taste and odor before water reaches the faucet.

What the Water Test Determines
You should not be guessing at this, and the free test means you do not have to. We measure what is actually coming out of your tap before anybody recommends anything. High dissolved solids, a chloramine taste you have already noticed, or coffee and ice that never taste right are the usual signals that an RO is worth it. A well, or an older groundwater address with nitrate in the reading, makes the case stronger. And if the test says your water is already fine to drink, we will tell you that and leave.
